ESOAA was started on 4th April 2002 with the following objectives

To take part in the activities of the Elite School of Optometry and to work for its progress and development.

To work for creating awareness about visual disability in general and low vision in particular.

To act as a center for disseminating information about services relating to the rehabilitation of persons who are visually disabled and with low vision and to help persons with low vision with special low vision aids.

To establish and maintain research institutions touching all possible spheres of visual disability and low vision in particular.

To grant scholarships to the deserving students of elite school of optometry and institute awards for the outstanding students.

To print, publish and distribute in all forms, including Braille, large print, audio cassettes and electronic books, periodicals, magazines, chronicles, pamphlets and papers propagating, preaching and promoting the objects and purposes of the society.

To aid, assist, help, and support institutions, groups or organizations that work for the similar objects and purposes of this society.

To conduct classes, meetings, workshops, seminars and symposiums for the propagation and attainment of the objects and purposes of this society.

To have affiliation with any organizations, associations groups which have similar objects of the society.

To erect, acquire maintain, improve or alter any buildings, or structures to fulfill the objects of the society.

To establish, promote, manage or assist in the establishment promotion or management of Association, whose establishment and maintenance may be beneficial to the society.
